Pseudo Selfie // Multimedia Design Project
Prompt: Design you own version of a "selfie" that depicts a bit of yourself as well as your view on the nature of self-photography.
Explanation: I created this graphic by retrieving my own body parts from three separate images and placing them
together on one image via Photoshop. This piece is my way of commenting on the prevalence and ease of image doctoring. With filters, Photoshop, and a multitude of smart phone applications that allow for instantenous image enhancement, the photos posted online are rarely in their raw form. We get to choose
how we look to the outside world, so questions emerge: What is real? What is fake? We wash our bodies the way we wash our clothes and hang them out on display for the judgment of the beholder, but how often do we inspect the quality of the content living within our internal selves?
